Straight out the time capsule from April 2003. This Music Man S.U.B. is an exceptional relic from the recent past with top quality American manufactured quality and hard to find accentuated gritty stylings. Bassists turn to Music Man S.U.B basses for Stingray quality, the Music Man name, and a more affordable price tag. Music Man bass guitars are embraced by top-talent worldwide...Flea of the RHCP, Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith, and Simon Gallup of the Cure. With a production run of just three years from 2003 to 2006, this Bass is a rare example of the "Sport Utility Bass" line before its migration to the Sterling by Music Man Brand in 2006 and moved off of the San Luis Obisbo production line. These American-made S.U.B. basses are known for their textured finishes and the matte black finish with the brushed steel diamond plate pickguard give this bass a very stealthy appearance to match its wicker tone!
Body: The top and back both look almost flawless, but there are some noticeable dings and nicks to be found along the sides and edges--no buckle rash; the electronics cover looks virtually flawless, but the neckplate and the battery cover show some scuff marks and scratches on them and the pickguard has some worn spots on it
Neck, Fretboard, and Headstock: The fretboard looks virtually flawless; there is heavy paint loss on the back of the neck as well as some scratches and small dings that should not affect comfort or playability; the front, back, and sides of the headstock have some noticeable scuff marks, scratches, and dings while the front and back edges have some obvious paint loss
Action and Playability: The action is about medium, plus the neck is straight and the truss rod functions flawlessly
Frets: Moderate wear with some small grooves starting to form on the mid to lower frets, however there is not fret out or buzzing at this time
Hardware: The tuners and bridge look fantastic and the neckplate shows some light scuff marks and scratches
Electronics: All functions flawlessly
Includes: Electric bass guitar and original hardshell case
