The Black Cat Audio DW12 tube amp and speaker cabinet is based on the old Fender 5E3 Tweed Deluxe circuit: it has the same tube complement and output as that venerable amplifier, but offers a somewhat quieter performance, with less background hum than the original, and with an added feature: a switchable, progressive negative feedback loop which, when engaged, provides the player wanting a cleaner sound with greater headroom---more volume before distortion, useful for jazzier tones. With the feedback loop turned off, the DW12 has the same wide-open grit as the old, beloved tweed amp. This amp and speaker cabinet are truly a work of art and it sounds immaculate...this would add a whole new layer of sophistication to any studio!!
