Used - Fair, but Playable Condition
Body: the top is free of cracks, but there are some obvious cracks in the back and some smaller ones along the sides; the top, back, and sides all show heavy scuff marks and scratches as well as some easily noticeable dings, dents, and wear in the finish--heavy buckle rash; the pickguard has some scratches from typical playing; the binding is all in place and not coming off, but there some obvious dings and nicks in a few places
Neck, Fretboard, and Headstock: the fretboard has a few small dings down the sides, but looks almost flawless otherwise; the back of the neck has easily noticeable dings/indentations and light scratches with some obvious chips in the finish at the nut position; the headstock has some easily noticeable scuff marks and scrapes with obvious wear in the finish, most noticeably around the front and back edges, plus a few small dings can be found on the front, back, and sides
Action and Playability: the action is about medium-low, plus the neck is straight, there is no neck heel separation, and the truss rod functions properly, however there is some very light bridge lift...it was a lot worse when we got it in, but our repair tech was able to reglue it so this guitar now plays like dream!
Frets: moderate wear with some small grooves starting to form in the first three frets, however there is no buzz or fret out caused by these grooves
Hardware: the tuners show some light rust spots, but function flawlessly
Includes: acoustic guitar and original case
The Guild F-20 Troubadour is a highly regarded, vintage acoustic flat-top guitar originally introduced in the mid-1950s and famously popularized during the 1960s folk era. Measuring just 13.75 inches at the lower bout, this concert-sized instrument is celebrated for its lightweight build and delicate, round, and articulate tone. The Troubadour was marketed by Guild as the ideal guitar for solo playing, vocal ballad accompaniment, and light strumming. Because of its narrow waist and comfortable size, it rests easily in the lap, making it a favorite among fingerstyle blues and folk musicians. The smaller body yields a very focused, articulate midrange that is distinctly vintage. Despite its wear and tear, this 65-year-old American-made guitar is far from retiring!
